今回のポーランド訪問では、スーツケースのかなりのスペースを、
仕事関係のカタログやらサンプルやらを持ち帰るために確保しておかなければならなかったので、
せっかく初めて訪ねる国ではあったけれど、
自分や家族へのお土産を買って帰ることはほぼ諦めていた私。
しかしながら、立ち寄ったCD屋さんでちょっと気が変わる。
こんな薄っぺらいディスク“一枚”くらいだったら、入るスペースあるはずよね、と。
同行Yは、知人から頼まれていたこともあって、店員さんにあれこれ質問をしてじっくりと選んでいたけれど、
私は逆に、特に質問はせず、ポーランドのミュージシャンであることと、
自分が好きなジャンルのCDであることだけを気にして、
後はジャケットが目に留まった物を直感でセレクトしてみた。
結果、ジャズを３枚、ロックを１枚、ポーランドオールディーズ(現代バンド演奏）を１枚、
計５枚も購入・・・。 （でも一枚５００～９００円ぐらいと安い。）
帰国後聴いてみて、これを自分へのお土産に選んだことにとても満足。
特に気に入ったのが、トランペッター TOMASZ STANKO のジャズCD.
帰りの空港で買った、ポーランドの薬草を使ったという強いお酒に良く合うのでした。
During my trip in Poland, I needed to leave enough space in my suitcase for stuffs like catalogs and samples for work. So I almost gave up the idea of buying any souvenirs for myself even it was my first visit to Poland.
But, when I walked into a music store and saw CDs, I changed my mind.That moment, I thought there must be a space left for "one" thin flat disc in my suitcase.
My colleague was asking so many questions about some CDs she was interested in.
I, on the other hand, picked up some CDs which their jackets caught my eyes.
I only cared that they were Polish musicians and if they were my sorts of music or not.
I bought 1 rock, 1 old polish music and 3 polish jazz CDs in the end.
When I listen to those CDs at home, I was glad that I came up with the idea of buying Polish CDs at that time. I liked all the CDs especially trumpeter TOMASZ STANKO's jazz CD.
His music goes really well with the strong Polish herbal liquor I bought at the airport before my departure.
